NaPoWriMo Day 30: I Am My Own Defender

Hark! Beware!

Who comes near?

I am the defender

of my own being

To harm my being

you should not dare

If you try, I will strike

you with my razor

sharpened talons

And you will not

survive the attack

for it will be brutal

as I am defensive and

protective towards my

own precious heart.

NaPoWriMo Day 29: Enchanting Encounter

Thunderclaps

Loud booms

Intensely brewed downpour

Bursting of the cumulonimbus

Wetness

Rainbow

Colourful dome

Through darkened clouds

Breaks the monotonous sky

Enchanting

NaPoWriMo day 27: Dear Bravery

Dear Bravery,

Why do you hide? Do not be afraid of me. Me being around is not necessarily a bad thing. I am good at times and needed too. But if you hide and disappear and vanish into the darkness, the humans we reside in will see no light. They will forever be a friend of the darkness. You need to show up with your friend courage and help the humans move forward. Take them through it all slowly and help them in times of their need. You see, I am not permanent. But I could be, if the humans allow me to. Do not let them. Do not let them make me a permanent home in their beings. If I do, then I will live in them forever and that’s not good. They need you more than they need me. So, please, do not hide.

Love,

Fear.

NaPoWriMo Day 26: The Moment

He stood waiting

Breathless

Excited

Happy

This was happening

The girl of his dreams

Will come walking

Walking down that aisle

As he stood waiting

NaPoWriMo Day 25: Mr. EggHead

Hercule Poirot with an egg shaped head

is kind and friendly to the dead

When he’s off solving the ‘whodunit’

there is no escape for the culprit.

NaPoWriMo Day 24: Cloudy Shapes

Taken on a fine morning outside my bedroom window.

Watch intently as the

cottonballs rush to meet

and greet each other

amongst the vast aqua blue sky

creating contours of a magical kind

that helps us visualize an elephant

or in my case, a large alien ship

and rekindle the joy

of finding shapes in the sky.

NaPoWriMo Day 23: Stop Wishing

You wish you were brave

You wish you were confident

You wish you were strong

You wish you were bold

You wish you were courageous

You wish you were tough

You wish you were happy

You wish you were cheerful

You wish, you wish

you keep wishing

But all these wishes

will be a distant dream

If you do not wake up

and work towards it.

NaPoWriMo Day 22: Illuminated Soul

Walking across leaf strewn lanes

the wind blows a soft gentle breeze

humming tunes as it clashed

with tree filled leaves.

Along the journey a leaflet is carried

on the shoulders of the wind

and planted in my path

Curious, I catch it and sit on a park bench

And read:-

When I was born, all hope was gone

Even before I rose, I was ignored

Love there was not for my little soul

And so I stayed for long in that mode.

Then one day, light dawned upon me

The light that grew within me

Surrounded me whole and covered me

Like iron doors

Illuminated in my own light, I realised

The hope and love I seek is inside

Inside of my own beating heart.”

NaPoWriMo Day 21: Twitter Tunes

The melodious tunes

of twittering birds

soothes

the galloping thuds

of my heart.
