Eluded Bravery

Day 17 (prompt): Brave Enough by Lindsey Stirling and Christina Perri

As his eyes locked with hers
he twinkled a wicked smile
Her heart thudded beats
She knew what was in store
Her legs turned to jelly
She wanted to scream out loud
Gritting her teeth, she waited
for what was to come
It was the same everyday
He would have his way with her
Each day she promised herself
“That’s it, I won’t take anymore”
Mornings were always filled
with determination and resolve
In the hopes that today would
be the day to end it all
Evenings brought in doubt
and shattered the resolve
No matter how hard she tried
she couldn’t be brave enough

  1. Passion/sex can be enthralling and so can the way a person acts or talks. Its easy to stay no matter you know you should leave. But as you say much harder to be brave and leave. Is it something she actually wants to and should leave. Maybe its a good thing she stays?
