NaPoWriMo Day 7: Magical World

She closes her eyes and scrunches them tight

And counts to three with all her might

She opens her eyes and giggles out loud

She’s transferred into her magical world

Where flowers can walk and lady bugs talk

And lions and bears and tigers are soft

Where she floats on a cloud and dances with stars

When she’s sleepy the moon wraps her in her arms

If she’s hungry she taps a big tree branch

And plop! The fruit falls into her mouth

If she’s thirsty she lets out one loud wail

And an elephant is ready with a pail

No matter what she’s safe and sound

For nobody knows of her magical ground

When anyone’s near she closes her eyes

And she’s out of her private magical life

  1. Oh dear NJ! Can I visit her world sometime? I would love these particularly:
If she’s hungry she taps a big tree branch

And plop! The fruit falls into her mouth

    …see I am always about food? 😀

Great imaginative poem, NJ! Love the wit and optimism in your pieces. A stark contrast to mine. 🙂
