Mechanical Woman

Twenty four hours she’s on her toes

Making sure she never blows

The cover she’s trying so hard to keep

So that the others don’t ever see

The reality behind those fake smiles

The truth behind those brooding eyes

The grin that looks so mechanical

That makes one wonder if she’s real

She’s stuffing all those heavy feelings

Deep inside a cave she’s building

But once that cave’s completely filled

She does not know how to refill

So she lets the cave overflow

And prays that it never ever blows

And hope someday that she will find

Someone to whom she can open her mind
