Books – My First Love

‘Today’s prompt is to write a love poem . . . but the object of the poem should be inanimate. You can write a love poem to your favorite pen, the teddy bear you had as a child (and maybe still have), or anything else, so long as it’s not alive!’ I have always treasured books more than anything. So I guess this is a dedication to them 🙂

 Books, my love

How I long for thee

My eyes seek

Books, my love

How I long to take thee

In my arms

Books, my love

How I long to touch

Your smooth skin

Books, my love

How I long to read

Your loving words

Books, my love

I promise to protect you

Care for you

Books, my love

Never will I let go

I promise you

Books, my love

I cannot live without you

Stay with me…
